Billy Ray Stephens

Billy Ray Stephens, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on December 29, 1951, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Billy's life was marked by his devotion to his loved ones and his unwavering spirit.

Billy is survived by his beloved daughter, Billie Jo Jenkins, and her husband Calvin. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Homer Lee Stephens and John William Stephens, and his sisters, Dorothy Massey, Virginia Marlow, Willie Jo Spriggs, Bobbie Ann Dowdle along with her husband Gary, Marie Hix and her husband Terry "Punk.", along with Martha and Wilbur Gooch. Additionally, he was a proud grandfather to Michael Nathan Stephens, who brought immense joy to his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary "Earnestine" Stephens, whose presence in his life was profoundly felt, along with his parents, Mandy Lou Chambers Stephens and Clarence W. Stephens. Billy also was preceded in death by his son Joshua Adam Stephens, brother, Clarence Jr. Stephens, and sisters Helen Parks, Mildred Carver, Jeanette Cates, and Linda Long. Also, his brothers-in-law Marvin Cates, James Marlow, and Robert Lee Spriggs.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Billy and Earnestine's life during the visitation at Lawson Funeral Home located at 4532 Highway 53, Hoschton, GA, 30548, on February 14, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service starting at 2:00 PM and concluding at 3:00 PM.

Billy Ray Stephens' legacy will continue to live on through the memories he created and the love he shared, leaving an enduring impact on all who knew him.
