Christopher Robert Ranni , age 66 of Hoschton, passed away, Sunday, March 2, 2025. Born on November 5, 1958, in Rockland County, NY, Chris was the second of six siblings—Jill, Alicia, Joseph, Anthony, and James—born to Robert Ralph Ranni and Regina Carmella Pitner. He attended Clarkstown North High School and later graduated from SUNY New Paltz. Chris had a sharp mind, a quick wit, and a deep passion for finance, coding, and information technology. While he appreciated the power of technology, he also understood its complexities and challenges. His self-employed career in finance reflected his analytical nature, but his true joy came from the people he surrounded himself with. Chris married Fabia Flores and wholeheartedly embraced the role of a father, lovingly adopting her five children as his own. He was a devoted parent, a source of unwavering support, and a man of kindness and integrity. Chris found solace and joy in golf, often remarking that it was one of the few sports where you could practice, progress, and compete against yourself. He was also a passionate music lover, with an eclectic taste that spanned from the Grateful Dead and Bebop Deluxe to Frank Zappa
Chris is survived by his beloved children— Nic DePaula, Francisca Vohs, Maria Vitoria Rivera, Sofia Gold, and Catarina Bernardes—as well as his eight cherished grandchildren. His legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom will live on in their hearts forever.
A celebration of Chris’ life will be held on March 9 at the American Legion in New City, NY, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society, a cause close to his heart.
Chris’ presence was a gift to all who knew him, and his memory will forever be a source of warmth and inspiration.
