Cornelius William Cornelssen, Jr.

Cornelius William Cornelssen, Sr ., age 93, of Hoschton and formerly of Medford, NJ passed away Monday, December 17, 2018. He was born in Manhatten, NY and spent most of his life in the northeast. Bill was a proud member of the Flowery Branch Masonic Lodge #212 where he received an award in 2018 – Mason of the Year. He attended his last meeting there in November. Previously he was a member of  Masonic Lodge #178 of Medford, New Jersey where he served as the Past Master. Mr. Cornelssen was an United States Army Veteran of WW2. At age 18, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and earned a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. Survivors include his daughter Candice Easton and husband Everard of Hoschton; son Cornelius William Cornelssen and wife Cindy of SC; sister Dianne Cornelssen Ferrera Kehoe of Balto, PA; grandchildren Patrick William Easton, Cornelius William Cornelssen and Carena Cornelssen.  He is preceded in death by his wife Jeanne Cornelssen and brother Robert Paul Cornelssen.  Interment to be held with military honors 12:30 pm Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.  Arrangements by Lawson Funeral Home, 4532 Hwy 53, Hoschton, GA, 30548, www.lawsonfuneralhome.org , 706-654-0966.
