Donald Ray Tharpe

Donald “Don” Ray Tharpe, age 79, of Winder passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children.  He is survived by the love of his life of 60 years, Melda Tharpe, their children Karla (Jeff) Wolfe, Trina (Todd) Hutchins, Jason (Nikki) Tharpe, his five grandchildren, Dylan and Kali Wolfe and Brady, TJ, and Blakey Tharpe, all of which brought him endless joy. 

A proud Navy veteran and fierce patriot, Don believed deeply in the greatness of the United States. He loved his country passionately and the Lord fiercely, living out his faith with strength and humility.

 A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Winder First Baptist Church, 625 Jefferson Hwy, Winder, GA. 

Visitation hours are from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm followed by the service at 3:00 pm. Interment cremation.

 As Don says, “if you don’t have family or Jesus, you ain’t got nothin”. That is a legacy he leaves behind-a life anchored in faith, love, and family.
