Jack Edward Chalmers

Jack Edward Chalmers , age 85 of Hoschton passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Jack was an Atlanta native who went on to attend school at Mars Hill College, where he met his wife of over 50 years, Nancy Pridmore. He then went on to study at Furman University and served as a Minister at churches in Virginia and Georgia. Jack dedicated 70 years in the ministry and spent his final years of work as the Chief of Chaplains at the V.A. Hospital in Atlanta. Jack possessed a passion for our veterans and found great pride in serving them and bringing them to our Savior. After Nancy’s passing in 2009, Jack went on to marry Shirley Ray in 2011. He loved his family, golf, fishing, bowling, gardening, traveling the world, reading and most importantly, he loved the Lord. He is survived by his wife Shirley Chalmers; son David Chalmers of Braselton; daughter Kim C. King and husband Kevin of Lakemont; son-in-law Phil Campbell; brother Danny Crowe and wife Gayle; 9 grandchildren Josh, Justin, Charlene, Christopher, Mary, Jack, Denver, Nancy, and David Jr.; 11 great grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his mother Nannie Lee Crowe and stepfather Raymond Crowe; father Arnold Chalmers; wife Nancy Chalmers; son Mark E. Chalmers; daughter Debbie C. Campbell; brother Billy Chalmers; and sister Sue Crowe. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Church On The Hill (101 Gum Springs Church Road Jefferson, Ga., 30549). Officiating will be Dr. Jeff Perkins, Nancy King, Justin Campbell, and Christopher Chalmers. Interment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Garden. The family will receive friends 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Church On The Hill.
