born September 7, 1940 in Collins, Ga. Passed away

, August 24, 2025 to his forever home. He was married for 63 years to His beloved wife Grace Oliver before Her passing in October 2024. He raised His family of 3 in Gwinnett Co., Georgia but Savannah was always dear to His heart. Jack was a servant of God and would share the gospel of Jesus with every conversation He had. He loved and took care of his family well and most importantly was a prayer warrior for each one of them. He always saw the positive in everyone and everything. He never spoke badly about anyone instead He would pray for them. He loved going on vacations, loved spending family times celebrating holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. He would always dote on his grandchildren and great grandchildren and would speak about them with every conversation He had. He will always be remembered as a prayer warrior, a man of God, a loving Husband, and very loving and hands on Daddy to His children, and Papa to His Grands and Great-Grands.
He will also be remembered for His loud deep voice, His vocal prayers, and His great head of hair!
He had seven siblings, and left a legacy of three children, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren
He was preceded by His wife Grace Oliver; Daughter Melanie Oliver Page; Father Lee Talley (LT) Oliver; Mother Jane Oliver; Sister Dorothy Barrow & Husband Carlos; and Sister Peggy Prosser & Husband Ken Prosser. Jack was survived by His Daughter Letitia Lynn Shugart & Husband Keith Doyle Shugart; Son Monty Mason Oliver & Wife Terry Oliver; Grandson Tyler Keith Shugart & wife Rebecca Shugart; Grandson Austin Lee Shugart & wife Ashley Shugart; Grandson Hunter Tate Shugart & Wife Veronica Shugart; Grandson Travis Lee Page & Wife Stephanie Page; Grandson Mitchell Oliver; and Granddaughter Rachael Oliver. Greatgrandchildren Emmalene Oliver; James Page; Emersyn Shugart; Jeremy Oliver; Holden Shugart; Lily Melanie Page; Jett Shugart; Callan Shugart; and Easton Shugart; Step Granddaughter Paige Johnson & Husband Michael. Siblings Charlotte Akins & late Husband Edwin Akins from Claxton Ga ; Robert Oliver and wife Brenda Oliver from Savannah Ga; David Oliver and wife Glenda Oliver from Watkinsville Ga; Ray Oliver and wife Mary Oliver from Statesboro Ga; Dennis Oliver and wife Bertha Oliver from Claxton Ga.
Jack was very faithful in attending His church “Emmaus Church” in Buford Ga. Jacks’ wish was to help build a permanent church so that they could better serve and spread the true gospel of Jesus. In lieu of flowers You could give to the Emmaus fund in Jacks name and memory. Jack knew His purpose while He was here on this earth and that was to spread God’s message.
A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 am, Friday, September 12, 2025, at Emmaus Church in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the Church.
