Jane Edwards Holbrook, born on April 9, 1934, in New York, peacefully departed this life on November 25, 2025. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, commitment, and service to her community.
Jane attended Abbott Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, and later pursued some college education at Stetson University in Florida, where she was an active member of Pi Beta Phi, fostering lifelong friendships and connections.
Before moving to Georgia in 2002, Jane was a very active member of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for 38 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir, participated in Evangelism Explosion, Bible studies and Mariner’s Groups during her time there. She loved drawing, painting, knitting and reading.
A passionate and dedicated community member, Jane was involved in numerous organizations, including the Braselton Women's Club, Rotary International as a Paul Harris Fellow, and Friends of the Library. She also held membership in the Lions Club in earlier years, reflecting her spirit of service and commitment to enriching the lives of others.
Her faith formed an integral part of her life as a member of The Church on The Hill, where she found strength, solace, and camaraderie within her church family.
Jane is survived by her loving son, Ed Holbrook Jr. of Sarasota, FL; her son, Michael C. Holbrook, and his wife Jane of Orlando, FL; her daughter, Susan Plog, and her husband Marty of Hoschton, GA; and her daughter, Holly Novak, along with her husband Dave of Ponte Vedra, FL. She took immense joy in her grandchildren, Eddie Holbrook (Val), Bob Holbrook (Mai), Andrew Holbrook (Ashley), Hannah Holbrook, Leah Holbrook, Micah (Bubba) Holbrook, Josh Holbrook, Sarah Parchert (David), Bryce Novak, and Kyle Novak, as well as her nine great-grandchildren, who were a source of pride and happiness in her life.
Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene E. Holbrook; her father, Clifford Edwards; her mother, Marjorie Edwards; and her granddaughter, Rachel Plog. Each of these individuals undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping the loving and generous spirit that Jane embodied throughout her life.
As we remember Jane Edwards Holbrook, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched many lives through her unwavering commitment to family, community, and her many interests. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
