Jerry D. Finley, age 90 of Pendergrass, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025. He was born in Marion, North Carolina, and moved with his family to Seneca, South Carolina as a young boy. He was a graduate of Seneca High School and Presbyterian College. After graduation, he married his high school sweetheart Margaret Blackwell and moved to Georgia. Jerry retired from Rich’s after proudly serving the company in a managerial position for 38 years.
Jerry enjoyed genealogy, working outside, listening to gospel music, and cheering for the Clemson Tigers. He was a member of Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church in Flowery Branch. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl M and Hessie W Finley; infant brother, James; brother, Jesse; sisters and brother-in-law, Josephine and FM Wood, Betty and Ray Hall; and brother-in-law, Edward Cheatham.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Margaret B Finley, his children Kathy Cox (Jim), Brant Finley (Kim), Cindy Clack (Thomas), and Peggy Reynolds (Mark); Sister and brother-in- law, Justina Lou and Dwight Pearson; sister-in-law, Marina Finley; and sister-in-law, Jean Cheatham. Jerry was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held August 23, 2025, at Lawson Funeral Home in Hoschton, GA. at 2:00 PM. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:00. A private burial will be held in Seneca, South Carolina at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
