Joy Elaine Harvey

Joy Elaine Harvey, age 72, of Buford, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on August 13, 1953, Joy lived a life devoted to caring for others. She worked as a nurse for more than 40 years, dedicating her life to helping and comforting those in need. Her compassion extended far beyond her profession, as she was also a devoted Sunday school teacher for children for many years, sharing her faith and love with generations of young lives.

Joy was known for her outgoing personality, warm heart, and deep faith. She loved spending time outdoors walking, hiking, and playing tennis. One of her greatest passions was studying her Bible daily, and her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.

She is survived by her children, Laura Frink, Connie Griffeth, James Tench, and Allison Antos; her siblings, Jody Davenport, Terry Glaze, and Jimmy Glaze; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Harvey; her daughter, Kimberly Tench; her brother, Joey Glaze; and her parents, Margie Glaze and Jim Terrell Glaze.

Visitation for Joy will be held on May 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM and visitation following the service at Lawson Funeral Home.

Joy’s kindness, strength, faith, and love for others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
