Michael “Mike” Dewayne Gerald

Michael “Mike” DeWayne Gerald, age 71, of McCaysville, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021. Mike’s family meant everything to him.  He especially loved his grandchildren.  He loved boating, fishing and enjoyed some Jimmy Buffett.  He retired from the United States Army after serving 23 years.   He is survived by his wife Becky Gerald of McCaysville; son John Gerald and wife Heather of Blue Ridge; daughter Wendy Brown and husband Keith of Wilmington, NC; stepson Charlie Silva and wife Lisa of Kennesaw; grandchildren Evan Gerald and Ashley Brown and a host of other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents Johnie and Betty Gerald and sister Linda Robinson.  Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.  Pastor Russell Harbin will be officiating.  Interment to follow at the Braselton Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
