Shirley Newman Johnson

Shirley Newman Johnson, age 80, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019.  Shirley had a green thumb and could grow beautiful flowers.  She enjoyed coloring and loved her dogs.  Survivors include her son Harve Johnson, Jr. and wife Pam, Joe Johnson and wife Wanda; former daughter-in-law Teresa Johnson; brother Bobby Newman and wife Robin; grandchildren Kelly Allison and husband Brian, Haley Hampton and husband William, Brandon Johnson and wife Kaitlin, Chris Johnson and wife Brittany, Ashley Cox and husband Austin; great grandchildren Trent, Emily, Colton, Nora, Knox, Addison, Sophia, Riley, Bentley and Kinley and a host of other relatives.  She is preceded in death by her husband Harve Johnson, Sr., parents Miles and Sudie Teal Newman, sisters Mary Bryant and Jewel Johnson.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.  Pastor Allen Stevens will be officiating.
