Sister Loretta Sharon Trotman, age 72, of Hoschton passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020.  Sister Trotman knew for a fact that God was real after she received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of her sins and receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost by the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave her utterance.  From that day she has always have had a love for God’s word and a way to share it with others.  John 8:32 (KJV) declare, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  This sharing has come in the form of teaching Sunday School, Bible School, Bible Study, Children’s Church, Street ministry and speaking the Word of God under power of the Holy Ghost.  She received her Associate in Data Processing in 1974 formerly known as NYC Community College; her Bachelor of Science in Data System Management from Pratt Institute in 1979; her Masters of Science in Instruction Technology from NYIT in 1999; her Associate in Theology in 1991 and Bachelor in Religious Education in 2002 from the National Theological Seminary of the Commonwealth University St. Louis, Missouri; and her Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Counseling from the Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary 2016.  She retired after 22 years from the Department of Education in Brooklyn, NY as a computer teacher, but never retired from her vocation of working for the Lord.  Sister Trotman was a Missionary and was President of the Missionary Board at Beulah Church in Brooklyn, NY.  Towards the end of her life she spent 3 to 5 hours a day in prayer. She was a member of the Hoschton Church of God of Prophecy for 3 years.  “Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great.” Acts 26:22 KJV.   Survivors include her daughter Regina Trotman of Hoschton; brothers Idris Trotman of New Haven, CT, Jon Trotman of West Columbia, SC and sister Frances Chaplin of Dacula, GA.  She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Shirley Trotman and brother William Trotman.  Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Friday, December 18, 2020 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.  Bishop Jerry Gaddis will be officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment to follow at the Hoschton City Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements by Lawson Funeral Home, 4532 Hwy 53, Hoschton, GA, 30548, www.lawsonfuneralhome.org, 706-654-0966.
