Steven Palmer, 48, of Winder, GA, passed away on March 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Steven was a loving husband and an amazing father to his two kids and two dogs. He was so proud of his children. Steven was kind, generous, and funny, and he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan, always cheering on his beloved Steelers, Penguins, Bulldogs, and Braves. He also enjoyed trips to the beach with his family and since his cancer diagnosis, developed a love of baking! His specialty was muffins and cherry turnovers.
Steven was born August 4, 1976 in Pittsburgh, PA. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Christina Palmer; his children, Riley Palmer (Bryson Hardy) and Nicholas Palmer; his parents William and Patricia Palmer of Freedom, PA; his sister, Pam McKenna (Mike) of Conway, PA; his mother-in-law, Joyce Sanzari of Fountain Inn, SC; several nieces and nephews, and many other beloved family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Paul Sanzari. Steven attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania and earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication. He was a proud member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. He worked the past seven years doing route sales for Frito Lay. He absolutely loved his job as the “chip guy.” He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Steve’s bravery through his battle with cancer will forever be remembered. He fought so hard for his family and he will forever be our hero.
The family will receive friends at Lawson Funeral Home in Hoschton on Thursday, March 27 from 6 to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at Hoschton City Cemetery on Friday, March 28 at 11 am. Todd McCain will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
