Wendy Sue Moran
With heavy hearts, yet with the steady hope we have in Christ, we share that Wendy Sue Moran, of Hoschton, Georgia, passed away on February 2, 2026. Wendy was born on April 4, 1960, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and her life was marked by compassion, resilience, and a love that made others feel safe, seen, and cared for.
Wendy was the beloved wife of Michael Moran, her husband of 46 years (their 47th anniversary would have been March 17). She built a home rooted in devotion, one where Wendy’s love was steady, sacrificial, and constant. Her children and grandchildren knew her not only as “Mom and Yia Yia,” but as the person who showed up again and again through every season. Even after long nursing shifts, she was there: at wrestling and soccer practices, games/matches, and life’s important moments, cheering with a full heart.
A nurse for nearly four decades, Wendy’s calling was caring for others. She advanced into leadership and, later in her career, oversaw in‑patient operating room nursing teams. She served as Cardiac/Vascular Operating Room Manager at Gwinnett Medical Center–Lawrenceville, helping shape programs and processes that supported the opening of the open‑heart surgery unit in 2012. Wendy put herself through nursing school while raising three children, later earning her BSN, and she carried that same determination into every part of her life.
Wendy’s faith was not just something she spoke about, it was something she lived. She loved Jesus and served others through 12Stone Church, offering quiet encouragement, warmth, and generosity to many.
Wendy found joy in the simple gifts of life: time with family and friends, spoiling her nine grandchildren, crocheting, sewing, reading, Mahjong, running (including multiple marathons), and faithfully cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
Wendy is survived by her husband, Michael; her children Shannon Moran (MJ Moran), Robert Moran (Allie Moran), and Matthew Moran (Demar Moran); her grandchildren Aryana, Abe, Hudson, Mason, Rowan, Jaeden, Cora, Briggs, and Watson; and her sister Karen Suwalski (Lee Suwalski).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Schwemmer and Theresa Schwemmer, and her brother, Kevin Schwemmer.
In keeping with Wendy’s wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial gathering to honor Wendy’s life will be held February 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Lawson Funeral Home, 4532 Hwy 53, Hoschton, GA 30548.
